A motive towards making lives more efficient.
Component used:
This project is a garage door opener system that uses an infrared (IR) remote control and an ultrasonic sensor to control the opening and closing of a garage door. The system is controlled by an Arduino microcontroller, which is connected to the IR receiver, ultrasonic sensor, servo motor, and LCD display.
When a user presses the correct button on the IR remote control, the system verifies the signal using a debounce function, and then opens the garage door by rotating the servo motor. The LCD display shows a message indicating that access has been granted.
If the ultrasonic sensor detects a car approaching the garage door, the system will keep the door open until the car has fully entered the garage and is no longer detected by the sensor. If the sensor detects a car that is stuck while entering the garage, the system will display a message indicating that the car is stuck and keep the door open until the car is no longer detected under the threshold distance.
After a delay of 5 seconds, the garage door will automatically close by rotating the servo motor in the opposite direction. The LCD display will then show a welcome message.
Overall, this project provides a convenient and safe way to open and close a garage door using an IR remote control and an ultrasonic sensor. It can be customized and improved upon to meet the specific needs and preferences of the user.
